Marched

I’m altogether and completely Marched.

Heavy, unrelenting raindrops outside my window reinforce the sentiment. Stuck inside over the winter with a hyperactive mind my creativity has been churning full bore, coming up with ideas quicker than I can execute them. And yet, I’ve been pinning for change. To get out and be amongst IT, to experience the world outside of my loop of the cabinet shop, the gym and back home.

I’ve been back in Victoria for just about ten years and my feet have grown itchy.

I do love it here but I think I love it out there even more. I find comfort in the unknown, a familiar sense of ease in uncertainty.

New smells, food and faces. The chance to discover a new favourite coffee shop and feel a strange city come alive in the early hours of morning. Those intimate hours are the best to take in a new city, shop keepers rolling up protective shutters, cooking fires being lit on street corners to cook tea or spicy noodles I would have never expected to eat for breakfast. Uncensored and unvarnished, people haven’t had time to put up their veneers. No falsehoods or fallacies, just straight dirt. I enjoy true interactions with humans before the day's irritants weigh on our souls.

You can learn a lot about a person by how they treat the people serving them coffee.
